There are so many names for it out there right now.
There are so many different terms.
There are so many perceptions around WHAT it is.
 
But.
 
The truth is.
 
IT IS THE SAME THING!!
Free call.
Discovery call.
Consult call.
Strategy call.
Planning call.
 
THEY’RE ALL THE SAME
They all have the same purpose.
 
It doesn’t matter how you try to pretty it up.
It doesn’t matter the label you give it.
It doesn’t matter the perception you create around it.

 

IT REMAINS THE SAME THING
There are so many people out there right now in the market place so fucking balls weak and scared of selling and asking for the sale that they are trying, desperately, pathetically, to call it anything but what it is.
 
There is so much unnecessary shame around messaging and marketing for sales that people are terrified to be honest with you when it comes to asking you to join them on a call.
 
BUT THE REALITY OF IT IS…
If a coach, consultant, trainer, etc. asks you to get on a CALL to help you get past where you’re at in your business or your life they are asking you to get on a SALES CALL.
 
And the purpose of those calls is also the same.
 
Now I’m not at all saying that the person offering to get you on a call doesn’t have a genuine interest in helping you get from where you are to where you really want to be.
 
Because in truth, that’s what they should be offering to do. They should ALWAYS have that intention. That should always be a part of the overall purpose.
 
These calls are the perfect opportunity for that coach, consultant, leader, etc. to be able to demonstrate to you their expertise. To show you how they can help you. To give you information, knowledge, tips, hacks, systems, strategies and actionables that you can implement immediately so you can uplevel in your business and/or in your life.
 
But.
 
What I am saying is that they also have an agenda.
 
And.
 
That it is perfectly O.K. for them to have that agenda.
 
Because.
 
We are all. All of us as entrepreneurs, leaders, creators, visionaries, messengers. We are all in IT for a couple of reasons.
 
One is because we have a gift, a message and a purpose.
 
Another is because we want to use that gift, message, and purpose to help our soul-level ideal clients. Because we want to make an impact. Because we want to help transform their lives.
 
The other is to MAKE FUCKING MONEY! To make a massive impact and create massive transformation in our own lives.
 
And, we should NEVER.
EVER.
Be ashamed of that.
Of any of that.
 
But.
 
When it’s not perfectly O.K. is when people PRETEND that they are going to get on a call with you and NOT try to sell you in their offer, program, training or coaching package.
 
Sure, perhaps there are a few – rare – occasions when people genuinely not going to try and sell their stuff to you.
 
Perhaps you aren’t a good fit.
Perhaps they don’t know how to offer the sale.
Perhaps they aren’t in a space where they want more clients.
 
But.
 
Don’t fool yourself.
Don’t delude yourself.
Don’t trick yourself.
 
And,.
 
PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.
For fucks sake.
 
Please DO NOT lie to yourself.
 
These people are in business.
They became entrepreneurs.
So they could help people just like you.
 
But.
 
Also so they could make money.
 
Anyone who says otherwise is either lying to you or to themselves.
Or both.
 
And no-one wants to work with someone who cannot…
Who will not…
 
Own their power.
Own their truth.
Own their purpose.
 
Do they?
 
THERE IS SUCH A STIGMA, SUCH A NEGATIVE PERCEPTION, SUCH SHITTY BELIEF SYSTEMS
Around sales calls.
 
But there doesn’t have to be.
It’s unnecessary.
 
In fact.
 
Selling isn’t dirty.
Selling isn’t criminal.
Selling isn’t bad.
Selling isn’t corrupt.
Selling isn’t wrong.
Selling isn’t offensive.
Selling isn’t evil.
Selling isn’t manipulative.
Selling isn’t forceful.
Selling isn’t sleazy.
 
But, at some point, however long ago, someone decided that selling was all of those things.
 
Someone, at some time, built up this STIGMA in their head around sales and selling and shared that with others and it became a thing.
 
Because they had a bad experience with a sleazy door to door sales person back in the day.
 
And at that point they decided at that point that ALL sales people, in other words, every. single. fucking. person. who is in business was sleazy, manipulative and dirty.
 
Someone, at some time, formed this NEGATIVE PERCEPTION around sales and selling because they had a shitty experience with an entrepreneur who tried to force a product on them that they didn’t want or need.
 
So they decided that ALL entrepreneurs who wanted to sell their products were forceful, corrupt and criminal.
 
And they repeated that story many, many times and to many, many people and it because a thing… a false truth.
 
Someone, at some time, told you a shitty story around sales and selling when you were growing up.
 
Because they had a bad experience with a business owner who sold them a product that didn’t do what they were lead to believe it would do.
 
And they went out of their way to repeat that story of victimhood it over and over until your mind became conditioned to believe it and you then (unwittingly or otherwise) decided that their story was true and then it became your story too.
 
BUT FOR FUCKS SAKE
Let’s be honest here.
Let’s be completely real here.
Let’s be 100% truthful here.
 
SALES AND SELLING IS ALL A PART OF BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR
Without sales you have a story.
Without sales you have a hobby.
Without sales you have a dream.
 
Without selling you don’t have clients.
Without selling you don’t have a business.
Without selling you don’t have the money you desire.
Without selling you don’t fully live your life’s purpose.
Without selling you don’t get to fulfil your destiny.
Without selling you don’t get to be an entrepreneur.
Without selling you don’t get to make a massive impact.
Without selling you don’t get to transform the lives of those you were born to serve.
 
So the next time someone asks you to get on a call of any kind:
 
Don’t get on the call believing that you’re going to get the solution to ALL of your worldly problems for FREE.
 
Don’t get offended when they offer you an opportunity to work with them further so that they can help you to experience the transformation you are seeking. So that you can achieve that which you desire.
 
And, equally.
 
Don’t treat them as though they have the plague.
Like they are a criminal.
As though they are an idiot for asking
 
And.
 
The next time you have the opportunity to help your ideal soul-level client to move past where they’re at right now so that they can get to exactly where they want to be, so they can achieve their goals, so they can fulfil their desires, so they can experience massive transformation, to they can go on to create massive impact…
 
DON’T FUCKING BE ASHAMED OF IT
Don’t be ashamed to OWN the fact that, should that person indeed be a good fit for you and your product, training or program, that on that call you are going to offer them the opportunity to work with you and that in doing so you are going to ASK FOR THE SALE.
 
And just know that THAT is ALL perfectly O.K!!
 
Know that EVERY SINGLE TIME that you ask for the sale you are getting closer and closer to fulfilling your deepest desires, to claiming your power, to achieving your goals, to helping those people you were born to help and to living your life on purpose.
