I was in a constant state of overwhelm and struggle.
The stress was unbearable.
I felt so isolated.
So alone.
… LOST
All because I was too proud (read: arrogant, egotistical) to reach out and ask for the help I needed.
But. It was also more than that.
I WAS AFRAID TO TRUST
I was afraid to trust someone other than myself:
With my truth.
With my secrets.
With my sadness.
With my repeated failures.
With my anguish.
I was happier to wallow in my own self-pity.
I was happier to beat myself up and tell myself how useless I was.
It didn’t matter that none of that was true.
Because.
IT FELT TRUE AT THE TIME
I never, ever knew what the next best step was.
I never knew just what would work.
I never got past the point of guessing.
BUT
When I opened my eyes.
When I reached out.
When I asked for help.
HELP is exactly what I got.
And my business took off like a fucking rocket.
