It makes me laugh when I think about it. And, not only because I see so fucking many online entrepreneurs out there right now trying so hard to be someone they’re not AND trying to build a tribe, relationships and a business.
But.
Because I used to be one of those people.
I didn’t think that I was good enough.
I didn’t think that I was enough.
I didn’t think that people would like me.
I didn’t think that people would get me.
I didn’t think that people would resonate with me.
And because of that…
I used to make creating my business complicated.
I used to make relationship building complicated.
I used to make sharing my message complicated.
I used to make connecting with people complicated.
I used to make selling my stuff complicated.
I used to tie myself in knots trying to work out HOW it was supposed to be done.
I spent tens of thousands of dollars on coaches and mentors and training in an effort to discover just how to do it. Properly.
I’ve been in online business for 9+ years now and in my VA businesses it didn’t matter so much that I wasn’t really myself… Until it did.
But, when I started out as a business and marketing coach 4(ish) years ago, that’s when I realised just how much time I was spending tying myself in knots, trying to be someone I wasn’t in an effort to please EVERYONE so that EVERYONE would become my client
When I finally realised that not everyone is my ideal client, that’s when things got a whole lot easier.
Admittedly that was some years ago now. But, truth be told… It was around 18 months ago that I really got it. That the penny really dropped. That I fully realised what I was doing WRONG all of that time.
I was trying to be like those I was paying to learn from. I was trying (unintentionally) to become just like my coaches and my mentors. From my messaging right down to the types of products I was selling… Or should I say TRYING to sell because when your shit is so fucking far out of alignment selling your stuff is akin to pushing shit up hill (Aussie vernacular!)
IT’S HARD, IT’S A STRUGGLE
But, when you finally get it. When you finally become aware of it. When you finally accept it. That’s when EVERY-FUCKING-THING changes for you.
And when I say ‘it,’ what I mean that when you realise that you’re so far out of alignment that you cannot recognise your own truth, that you don’t know what your own message is, you have no idea of what your passion and your purpose are….
That’s when YOU have all the power to CHANGE everything.
You see.
We get so damn busy trying to identify ourselves. Trying to label ourselves. Trying to be the person we THINK we need to be so that people will resonate with us and buy our stuff…
THAT WE SIMPLY FORGET WHO WE ACTUALLY ARE!
No-one actually gives a shit if you call yourself a:
Consultant
Business Strategist
Life Coach
Spiritual Guide
Visionary
These are just labels and…
PEOPLE AREN’T ATTRACTED TO YOU BECAUSE OF THE LABELS YOU USE TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF
Because of the labels that you assign to yourself.
And neither is success.
They are though, absofuckinglutely attracted to you when you are unapologetically and uncompromisingly yourself.
When you are authentic.
When you strip away all the layers.
When you are natural and raw.
When you are open and honest.
And let me tell you…
Here’s the thing about inauthenticity:
WHEN YOU ARE BEING INAUTHENTIC, YOU CAN’T NOT ATTRACT INAUTHENTIC PEOPLE
Sure titles (labels) help us to understand what your job description is….
But people don’t buy from you because of your job description.
They buy from you because of who you are and the strength of the relationship, rapport and resonance they feel they have with you.
So when you’re pretending to be someone you’re not.
When you’re faking it until you make it.
When you’re not being true to who you are.
When you’re not honouring yourself.
When you’re acting from fear.
You tend to attract people who are EXACTLY the same.
And I know there are LOADS OF COACHES AND MENTORS out there telling you that you need to be a certain type of person to be able to attract your ideal clients…
But take a look for just a moment at the type of clients those people are attracting.
They attract people who are exactly like themselves.
And the things is…
It’s not fucking rocket science.
THE LAW OF ATTRACTION DICTATES THAT…
You attract what you are.
You attract what you put out.
So while you’re busily faking it, pretending to be someone your’e not so you can make a sale… you’re gonna connect with a tonne of people who are… well, faking it.
So instead…
DO THE INTERNAL WORK AND DISCOVER WHO IT IS THAT YOU REALLY ARE
Go within… To the depths of your soul, far below the surface level bullshit that is the ‘truth’ that you are currently putting on show for the sake of expectation and social facades.
Go within... To the raw, the unspoken, the unfiltered, the unapologetic, the uncompromising, the hidden, the suppressed truth that lies deep inside.
Go within… To the you that you’ve been told for half a lifetime that you cannot be, that you cannot show, that you must keep a secret.
Go within… To the you who has been buried beneath other peoples baggage – fears, not-enoughness, stories, lies, excuses, resistance, limited thinking.
Go within... To the core of your very being and release the you who has been wanting to stand up, to show up, to speak up but hasn’t known quite how.
Go within… To the hidden passions, the forgotten dreams, the shelved goals, to your deepest desires, to your forgotten purpose.
And if you don’t like the person you ARE right now, after going internally, you have the power to become the person you truly want to be.
AND ONCE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AT A CORE LEVEL
Set about getting out there:
Showing up
Speaking up
Messaging
Connecting
Selling
While being THAT^ person.
And I’m not denying that:
Who we are
What we’re passionate about
What we care about
What we love
What we hate
What pisses us off
What makes us laugh
What makes us cry…
I’m not saying that that stuff doesn’t and won’t change over time…
But what I am saying is that that stuff is precisely what your ideal soul-level clients will relate to. It’s what they’ll resonate with. It’s what will speak to them.
It’ll hit them in the heart.
It’ll touch them at a core level.
It’ll speak to them in mysterious ways.
BUT THERE’S A REASON FOR IT
And that reason is ridiculously simple that you’ll wonder why the fuck you didn’t think of it, that you didn’t realise it, that you didn’t become aware of it soooooo much sooner than now.
I’ll come back to that shortly.
Remember back when you first started school…
You were scared.
You were alone.
You were uncertain.
But then you made your first friend.
And I get that those friends changed…
That they came and went as time passed by…
But you didn’t become friends with them by FAKING it.
You didn’t become friends with them by pretending to NOT be you.
You didn’t become friends with them based on lies or a false FACADE.
YOU SHOWED UP AS THE REAL YOU
And that’s the thing.
That’s the secret.
That’s the magic pill.
When you show up.
When you speak up.
When you message.
When you connect.
When you sell.
As the REAL YOU.
As your AUTHENTIC SELF.
That’s when your ideal soul-level clients will find you.
That’s when they’ll become a part of your tribe.
They’ll not just hear your words.
They’ll absofuckinglutely feel your words.
Because here’s the thing…
YOU ARE YOUR IDEAL SOUL-LEVEL CLIENT
There.
I said it.
I put it out there.
Because it’s the fucking truth.
A truth that so many coaches, teachers and more just don’t want you to know.
Because when you know they’re afraid that you’ll never want to buy their stuff again.
Your ideal soul-level client loves the same things that you love.
Your ideal soul-level client hates the same things that you hate.
Your ideal soul-level client laughs at the same things you laugh at.
Your ideal soul-level client cries at the same things that make you cry.
Your ideal soul-level client cares about the same things that you care about.
Your ideal soul-level client gets pissed off about the same things piss you off.
Your ideal soul-level client is passionate about the same things you’re passionate about.
They love the same movies.
They hate the same movies.
They love the same books.
They hate the same books.
They love the same music.
They hate the same music.
They have the same interests.
They have the same beliefs.
They have the same dreams.
They have the same desires.
They want the same things in love.
They want the same things in business.
They want the same things in life.
Admittedly, they may not be 100% the same as you.
But they’ll be damn close…
In some instances so damn like you that you’ll wonder if they’re your missing twin 😂
But.
By YOU being you…
By you SHOWING up as you…
By you SPEAKING up as you…
By you MESSAGING the truth that is you…
By you CONNECTING as you…
By you SELLING as you…
YOU CAN’T NOT BUILD STRONG FRIENDSHIPS, A LOYAL TRIBE AND ATTRACT YOUR IDEAL SOUL-LEVEL CLIENTS
In fact.
It’s fucking impossible to NOT do that.
So.
Gorgeous one.
Sweet rebellious badass.
Stop faking it.
Stop pretending.
Stop shrinking.
Because you’re worried about how YOU or your BRAND will be perceived.
You have no control over peoples perceptions.
And.
Just know that, like you don’t resonate with everyone.
Not everyone will resonate with you.
AND THAT’S PERFECT-FUCIKING-LY OK
Because that’s how it’s meant to be.
The Universe didn’t create us all the same for a reason (thank fuck for that!!).
The contrast between one person and another is quite deliberate.
Trust in yourself.
Trust in your dreams.
Trust in your vision.
Trust in your passion.
Trust in your desires.
Trust in your goals.
Trust in your purpose.
And know that:
Discovering.
Embracing.
Accepting.
Who you are, at a core level, at the centre of your being…
THAT is the key to connecting with your ideal soul-level clients.
